Explanation of the “de minimis rule”

Under current U.S. customs regulations, goods imported into the United States with a total value of up to $800 may qualify for duty-free entry. This exception is based on the so-called ‘De Minimis Rule’, which allows shipments below this threshold to enter the country without incurring import duties or extensive customs processing.

Orders exceeding $800 do not fall under this rule and may be subject to customs duties, taxes, and additional fees. The exact amount depends on the type of goods, their declared value, and country of origin, in accordance with U.S. trade and customs laws. Please note that orders including goods originating from China or Hong Kong are exempt from the “de minimus rule”.

This regulation applies to private individuals as well as businesses importing goods into the U.S.

Important: Any customs duties and fees must be paid by the buyer, who is considered the importer.

The majority of our products are manufactured in Cologne, Germany and the EU. A number of other products are manufactured in China and other countries.
